Keep a home maintenance log
A home comes with plenty of details worth remembering, from hallway paint to the garage breaker and the plumber's advice about the water heater. Say them into Memory Notes as you come across them. You'll have a home log without opening a spreadsheet.

What to include in your home log
The hallway is painted Benjamin Moore Pale Oak in eggshell. The leftover can is in the garage.
The garage and outdoor outlets are on breaker 14.
The dishwasher is a Bosch SHX78CM5N. We bought it at Best Buy in March 2024 with a five-year protection plan.
The plumber said the water heater is 11 years old. Check the anode rod next spring and budget for a new water heater.
Clearview cleaned the gutters on October 20. It cost $180.
Ask about your home notes
On the Ask tab, try asking what paint you used in the hallway, which breaker controls the garage, or when the gutters were last cleaned. Each answer includes the note it came from, so you can check it.
Make a home maintenance schedule
Connect an assistant, then ask it once a season:
Look through my home-related memories and make a maintenance calendar for the next 12 months. Include what's due, when, and the rough cost. Flag anything that sounds urgent.
The assistant can use the facts in your notes to make a plan for your house rather than a generic checklist. If you sell the house someday, you can also ask for a summary of every repair and appliance for the buyer.
Memory Notes for iPhone and iPad
Record a note by voice in a second or two, then find it by asking a question. Memory Notes answers from your notes and shows you the one it used. For iPhone and iPad.
